The Taft-Hartley Act was proposed overriding the veto by President Harry S.Truman. Congress passed the Taft-Hartley Act in 1947 to control the power of labor unions. The Act made sure to stop the labor Unions contribution in a political campaign and also prohibited disclosure of a union's financial activities. President Truman vetoes the Taft- Hartley Act because he believed that it was against the working-class people in America.
