What are a few of the positive things the equal rights amendment would have done for women in america?

 It would have created a whole new trial bar to sue for every imagined slight a woman could think up, and women are entirely capable of being quite creative in that regard. Some women would have been enriched in a negative sum game by suing potential employers. Ultimately, the benefit is that more lawyers would have made a good living.
