Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi is a big leader of the independence movement of India from the Britain rule. Many believe that what ignited the fire for him to move back to India from South Africa were incidents in which he was discriminated against based on his skin color. For example, in one instance he was asked to move from first class on a train even when he had a ticket which he had paid for. By the time he was back to India in 1915 he already had a reputation for fighting for civil rights in South Africa. By 1920 he was a huge political figure since he was part of the Indian National Congress. He asked all Indians to boycott British rule and only support Indian made products, this movement spread all over the nation and eventually lead to him spending 2 years in prison.
