Growing populations creates a larger work force. However, when the work force becomes readily available, wages go down. This decreases the population because people can no longer afford to have children and therefore do not have children. In result, there is a depleting workforce. This causes wages to go up and people can afford to have children again, and this increase the population again. This pattern will continuously repeat. This can also be applied to population affecting the environment. When the population grows, resources such as food and space deplete. This decreases the population because there are not enough resources to support the population. The maximum amount of individuals that an environment can support is called the carrying capacity. In order to control the population, natural disasters such as plagues must occur. These would be independent and dependent limiting factors that limit the population before it grows to the point where it depletes the resources and or disrupts the harmony between the work force and wages.
