Why is artemidorus waiting for caesar on the path to the senate house? what does he plan on doing and why?

Artimedorus wanted to inform Cesar about the people who were conspiring against him. He waited on the path to Senate house, on the street which was proximate to the Capitol, to hand over the list of the names of conspirators to Caesar. Artimedorus wanted to help Cesar.
