How did wwii alter the american homefront?

The biggest alter to the American homefront was that women actually started working and helping with war. Before WWII women just stayed at the house and took care of their kids. It's the biggest effect now because women still work today, and they still can get into the Military today. A little side effect from it is that there were major blackouts in cities, due to the war.

  A lof of commodities were rationed, like gas. There were black outs in some major cities. Many women joined the workforce to help with the war effort and still today remain in the workforce.
