How does the electoral college system protect the input and power of america’s smaller states?

The mode of appointment of the Chief Magistrate of the United States is almost the only part of the system.

Each state is represented in the Electoral College by its number of congressional representatives plus two both its senators. The number of congressional representatives is determined by the state’s population. This means that the equation accords with “one person one vote” principle.

This system was created by the framers to avoid bigger states to get more attention than smaller states.
