Why did the bush administration back the un resolution calling for saddam hussein to withdraw from kuwait?

Ayoung lady whom i'll call anonymous lived in west berlin and she said there's a thing going on there called the berlin airlift.the russians are trying to take over. this is not a good thing she says because the russians are communist and in a communist society. you don't have a say in the vovernment and you have much room to stand up for yourself.
