Irish immigrants came to america in the hopes of escaping the irish potato famine.

As my family is all from Ireland I've heard about this story. The English came over to Ireland and took there food and some more. England ended up winning over part of Ireland. Now we call it Northern Ireland. England left so many people starve to death. It is a true but terrible story.
