Why was king visiting memphis when he was assassinated?

One of the main reasons why Martin Luther King Jr. visited the city of Memphis which would eventually be the place wherein he was assassinated is that he wants to extend his help to the garbage workers that are currently having a strike against the Memphis government. 

Though typically, that which is called the  great schism  refers to the east-west  schism. it was the greatest  effect  of the east-west  schism  was the creation of two separate churches that had previously been mixed under one church, the eastern orthodox church and the roman catholic church.
