The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) is the agency that regulates satellites used for worldwide communication.

The federal communications commission is an independent agency of the United States government. It was made to regulate communications that take place by radio, Television, Satellite, and cable. It keeps an eye and its jurisdiction over the areas that are related to broadband access as well as radiofrequency use, media responsibility, and homeland security.

This agency was formed in the year 1934 under the communications act and this act was made to replace functions of radio regulation of Federal radio commission. The working with regards to roles and responsibilities of FCC is specified under section 1 of communications act and this act was further amended by the telecommunications act which was implemented from the year 1996 and the mission of this act was to provide communications to the people as far as possible without doing any sort of discrimination with all the facilities without charging unreasonably.
