During the Great Depression, creditors foreclosing farms was the reason that almost one million farmers lost their farms within four years.
Creditors had to foreclose farms as banks were closing and unable to give out loans, without loans farmers couldn't pay creditors, farms were lost and this fed into the destructive cycle of the great depression.
