How did settlement of the southern colonies differ from settlement of the new england and middle colonies

The middle colonies included New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey and Delaware. Southern colonies consisted of Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, North and South Carolina.

In southern colonies, the dominant crops were corn, grains, and fruits. Tobacco and Cotton were their major export items, for which slave labor was utilized. In the Middle colonies market, towns and villages were established to sell the goods and food items, while in the southern plantations was established, helping the southerners to grow crops for the international market. Agriculture was dominant in both colonies but in middle colonies, the land was used for producing food and mining.

Religious differences were also present between the two. Quakers dominated the middle colonies and the church of England was dominant in these colonies, while in southern colonies Religion wasn't too important in southern culture. so, people were given more religious freedom.
