spartan men did not have to worry about farming because they had slaves to do it for them.
spartans believed getting strong was more important than reading and writing.
spartan women did all the cooking, cleaning, and weaving, so the men could focus on war.
spartan women farmed the land, raised the children, and took on all household responsibilities.
