This led to a rise in pride among the English population, including the colonists. Moreover, Britain had acquired Canada, expanding the territory of its colonies. This was also meant to decrease problems with the Native population. Finally, regulations surrouding taxation and trade would only begin to become tighter in 1764, so the colonists still enjoyed reasonable liberty.
