Visual art and specifical photographs of harsh industrial conditions caused people to call for change. But first, they had to realize that problems existed. Sometimes if people don’t see, they do not believe. So it was until people were conscious that harsh conditions were a reality in the industry, that was the moment when protests began and they began to call for changes.
