What were south carolina's stated reasons for seceding from the united states in december 1860

South Carolina had many reason for seceding from the United States and could be found in the document “Causes of Secession”. One reason was that after the American Revolution the U.S established each state as a “free and independent state”. 

1 answer would be that the south carolina did not approve that the north were hiding fugitive slaves
