In the medieval period, some lords would allow markets at their manor. In this scenario, a merchant is looking to sell his goods at a growing manor. This manor has many people who need everyday items. The lord of the manor will allow outside merchants at the market, but will charge the merchant a 25% tax on all profits made at the market. To reach the market, the merchant must pass through another lord’s land. That lord charges a toll for any people who cross his land. How would you advise the merchant?
