Germany was drained due to World War I and Treaty of Versailles. Ger. diverted it's resources towards war and the treaty of Versailles further squeezed Ger. Under the treaty Germany had to pay huge indemnity to allies. So there was no economic growth, poverty, mass unemployment, worker strikes, hyperinflation etc.
