How did the experience of dealing with native communities in the Americas differ for the English and the French in contrast with the Spanish and the Portuguese?

The Spanish and The Portugese mingled a lot more with the Native Americans than the French or the English. The reason is that most Spanish and Portuguese conquerors and settlers in the Americas were single men who married Native American women and created a mestizo society.

The French and the English did not intermarry as much since the settler were often composed of whole families. The French did convive more peacefully with the Native Americans during the first years of the New France colony, while the English had difficult relations with them since the beginning.
