After the American Civil War ended in 1865, the U.S. had to go through some changes. This would be known as post-Civil war era or Reconstruction. One major shift in the U.S. was the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendment. After the 19th century was over, 100 years from 1865 which leads up to 1965 there will be a major shift in the south and for racial discrimination. Second shift was Voting Rights of 1965.
