during the French/Indian Seven Years War, the British were able to defeat the Indians because the British had weapons the Indians did not, such as guns. They also had military training and formations, whereas the Indians did not.

However, the war officially ended when the French lost Montreal and Quebec to the British, and France signed the Treaty of Paris in 1763.
