Clearly Manifest Destiny had a major effect on the United States, fueling its growth all the way to the Pacific, making America what it is today. Manifest Destiny brought the American people money, land, resources, and a strengthened economy. The negative effects of Manifest Destiny were also present. This idea that it was their destiny to expand caused Americans to disregard Native Americans' territorial rights, wiping out many tribes, causing a cultural divide, tension, and wars. The negative impact this had on Native Americans was long-lasting. For the same reasons, Manifest Destiny also caused war and tension with Mexico. Slavery was also involved there.
