The Pequot War was an armed conflict between the Pequot tribe and English settlers that occurred between 1636 and 1638. Others were dispersed. The defeated were almost exterminated and it would take them almost three and a half centuries to recover many of their original lands. The Mohegan and the Narragansett would end in 1643 declaring war on each other.
