How did the inventions of the late 1800s change the nation?

The invention of toilet paper made life much more sanitary in the late 1800s. though it wasn't until the early 1900s was the now popular 2-ply toilet paper developed. 

industrialization on the other hand isolated the assembly line worker. he/she became separated from his work. before a craftsman had the pride of seeing through a single chair/car/etc. with his own hands/talent. but industrialization broke all the steps into pieces therefore also stripping the craftsman from his pride. he became more of a cog in a giant machine, responsible for only 1 task.
