Following World War II, the United Nations (UN) General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The date was December 10, 1948. Visit this UN Web site and review Articles 1 through 30 of the UN Declaration of Human
Rights.
1. Identify five similarities that you see between the rights contained in the UN document and the fundamental rights of
United States citizens from the US Bill of Rights discussed in Lesson 3.
2. Identify five rights from the UN articles that you would like to add to a list of guarantees under the US Constitution.
3. Are any rights that you believe should be included but that are missing from either the US Bill of Rights or the UN
