The Founding Fathers explained the goals of the U. S. Constitution - and thus our new government - in the Preamble of the Constitution. For this assignment, you should think about the meaning behind the words in the Preamble – what they meant then and what they mean now. Then choose one of the options below to complete this assignment. OPTION 1: Preamble One-Pager

Read the words of the Preamble and think about them in terms of then and now. For each of the six goals written in the Preamble, think of a real-life example of how this goal is met in the United States today. Then complete the following:

1. Use your own paper or print out and use the Preamble Goal template.
2. In each square, write one of the six goals of the Constitution (in order).
3. Draw an image or scene which describes a real-life example of how this goal is met in the United States today.
4. Below the image, explain the real life example (2 sentence minimum).
5. Add color to your image. Neatness counts.
