Why would farmers want better roads

Obviously the roads connecting farms directly to the highway system and other cities are critical farm roads because they support: movement of the farmers and their equipment to and from fields and the home farm base (where usually grain storage, livestock facilities, maintenance facilities, family home, etc. are located)

Access roads provide the means to bring the rural population on to the main stream. A good road network reduce transport cost, accelerates efficient delivery of farm inputs and enhance special agricultural production and distribution.  It also opens up the rural economy to greater competition.
