You will assume the role of your nations' representative at Versailles. Please pick one country
to represent. France will be represented by the Georges Clemenceau, prime minister of
France. He is eager to punish Germany and to protect against another invasion of France by
Germany. The United States will be represented by the idealist Woodrow Wilson, president
of the United States. Wilson comes to Europe with great hope in a spirit of internationalism
that he hopes will build in the hearts of his countrymen. Germany is represented by Ulrich
Graf von Brockdorff-Rantzau who hopes to keep a united Germany and hopes to receive
rational terms from the Allies.
Assignment:
You are writing a letter which will be published in the major newspapers of your country. As
such it should appeal to the nature of your respective country's public opinion. You must
consider the stance of your opposition and be able to explain to your people why the views
of the other powers are either wrong or right. Explain how your country will benefit under
your policy and how it will ensure your ultimate goal: A. LASTING PEACE. I am looking for
2-3 paragraphs for your answer. You can be creative as you want when it comes to the
format of the letter
