How may the introduction of the slave data change the discussions over representation? The Constitutional Convention met in Philadelphia in May 1787. The 55 delegates included many leaders from the American Revolution. All of the delegates who attended were known as the Framers, or the Founding Fathers of the nation.
While everyone agreed that the United States needed a new government, there was a big disagreement on what that government would look like and how much power it should have. There were many issues that required a great deal of compromising, which is why the United States Constitution is known as a “Bundle of Compromises.”
