APUSH Historical Period 2: Chapters 2-3 Chronological Reasoning - Colonial America INTRODUCTION: Although it might not seem important to know historical dates, the reality is that dates help us to conceptualize important trends. Understanding when and why things occurred is critical to understanding history. It would be impossible to practice many, if not all, of the historical thinking skills without the proper chronology of content. DIRECTIONS: 1. At the top of this graphic organizer you will find 15 events. They are not in any particular order - your first task is to find the date of each event and then put them in chronological order. 2. Select 10 events you feel are most critical to tell the story of this historical period and list them in chronological order on the left hand column of the summary section. 3. In the right-hand column of the summary section you will write an analysis of the events, connecting one to another by showing cause and effect as you show correlation between the events. a. DO NOT just tell me this came first and this came next. b. DO tell me how one connected to the other - you must show CAUSE AND EFFECT! C. This is not just define each event (or say this came first, then next was this) 1. SHOW CONNECTION WILLL NAME BRAINLIEST
