Relations changed drastically since the war reparations for the Seven Years War was very high Britain needed to find a way to pay for all the debts. So, the British turned to taxing the colonials. The colonials were infuriated (they were not being represented in Parliament and they were still being taxed, coining the phrase "no taxation without representation") but still found ways to smuggle in goods. With the Townshend Acts the British sought to combat smuggling so of course, the colonials were mad and began rebelling against them. The series of events after this is the road to revolution..
