Many goods in the Republic of Texas had a tarriff tax. Items that were considered luxuary goods had a higher tarriff then items that were neccessity goods. What is the difference between a luxaury good and and neccesity good? Why do you think the tarriff was higher for luxury goods then for necessity goods?
