Dissenting Opinion (if any) (1 paragraph): In a powerful dissent Justice Harlan found that the Louisiana law was discriminatory, because it sought to keep black passengers from coaches reserved for white passengers. Harlan states that the law was clearly intending to keep black away from white people. This was a violation of their civil rights. Harlan states that the constitution is color-blind, which means a state can't constitutionally deprive citizens of their rights based on their races. Personal Opinion (1 paragraph): I can't believe how the United States Supreme court would agree that the law was constitutional. Especially when they said that the fourteenth amendment wasn't violated, because it wasn't intended to eliminate distinctions based on race. That is basically going back on what it is meant for, everyone to be "equal" . I am glad the case was overturned, it only took them 58 years.
