How did Harriet Beecher Stowe help the abolition movement

Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote Uncle Tom's Cabin. Uncle Tom's cabin is a book about slavery that was revolutionary in the way that it humanized, and gave actual lives to the slaves. Most white people in the US at the time had been completely desensitized in terms of slavery. They had a hard time understanding that slaves are actual people who are born into a life of captivity and hard labor. Stowe was a white woman, so she could get other white people to listen to her, and it propelled the abolition movement forward  because for the first time there was a degree of sympathy for slaves among those who had never experienced the brutality first hand
