What was brinkmanship and what was the result of the policy in the 1950’s?

Brinkmanship- foreign policy used in the Cold War which is where a country would push a dangerous issue or event to the edge looking for the best outcome for there side.

Brinkmanship almost brought the U.S. and Soviet Union to nuclear war.
