7.France  Green Bay, Wisconsin  La Baye Verte  Jean Nicolet was a French explorer who founded Green Bay in 1634, it was named this because of the greenish colored water. Its was established because in 1655 a fur-trading post had been established and Green Bay was the gate way that connected Fox, Wisconsin, and Mississippi rivers. Green Bay was a small town with a gate way to a trade route. At the Wequiock Falls County Park in Green Bay they have a statue of their founder Jean Nicolet.
