Explain how the Cold War differed from prior wars.(19 points)

Cold war was a war like never before. Cold War was mainly focused between the NATO and Warsaw countries. Some say it was a standoff of the 2 superpowers United States of America and the USSR( Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). The reason it was so special is because there wasn't any direct battles between the USSR and USA. THe closest they got to a war was when the Americans sent 15 Tanks to the Berlin wall and stayed there. The Dictator of the Soviet Union Michail Sergeevich Gorbachev was enraged at this and sent 24 soviet T-50s to the gate the Americans stood at. For 20 hours the whole world held their breath as the 2 superpowers flew their flags upon their tanks so close to each others the Operators of the tank battalions on each side could make out each others flags.
