These Mongolians would kidnap Chinese leaders and rob and kill the poor that lived near Mongolia. He built his section of the Great Wall with the help of political prisoners who did not like the way that he ruled. When these prisoners died from overwork and the cold climate, he is said to have made them part of the mortar (def. cement) of the wall to hide their bodies.
