Historians tend to portray the 1950s as a decade of prosperity, conformity, and consensus, and the 1960s as a decade of turbulence, protest, and disillusionment. In the 50's people were basically just vibing (except blacks) and in the 60's people protested, people were killed, and houses were bombed. hope this helps.
