They paid women to travel to Jamestown so they could marry The Bachelors that were living there. They sent 90 in 1619 and 56 in 1921 and 1922. They also sent children and it was the salvation of the colony. Because unlike many other colonies, the men in the Virginia Company traveled alone to get rich and return home to get married.
