Write 1-2 paragraphs that explain what Lincoln and Douglas each believed about slavery.

Lincoln was strongly against slavery. He believed that slavery should be abolished in the country, while on the other side Douglas had totally opposite beliefs. He believed that every state should decide whether they want slavery or not.

Explanation:

The two politicians had their famous during 1858. Douglas was presenting the idea of white supremacy and basically supported slavery. Lincoln was against. Still, Douglas won the elections for the Senate, but Lincoln gained a lot of followers.
