What made Malcolm alter (or change) his view of whites in America?

Malcom X changed his views on whites in America because of his pilgrimage to Mecca.

After Malcom X got paroled, he turned Islamic and his mind set was that black folks should fight back by any means, because his enemies- "white people"- have weapons. But, when he took a pilgrimage to Mecca, seeing all the different races coming together to worship, and acting kindly to each other made him alter his views.
