Indian ocean saw a bustling of trade and coming up of many different kingdoms in the region.

The traders of India in the post-Maurya period, which began near the 6th century were still far and wide.

With the South Indian kingdoms of Chola, Pandiya and vying for power to control the seas they launched many expeditions into south east Asia where they set up many sea trading kingdoms.

By that time, the European traders were also finding their way across ape of good hope to trade with Indians and Chinese along the way.

Discovery of spices in south east Asia also contributed to the general prosperity of the trade of the region.

the catholic church withhold people's access to the bible during the middle ages.

people could go to church and listen to the teachings, but it was absolutely forbidden to own and/or read the books of both the old and new testaments. it was also prohibited to translate the books (which where originally in biblical hebrew) to any other language.

this was done so the church could remain in control of what their teachings were and to enhance their importance and power, while also being able to judge people's actions through information that was unavailable for the general public.
