They allowed people to trade goods, sell items, communicate, and much more. Today we have online websites where we can buy things with a click and people are always trading items and communicating over the internet, much like the system of the Silk Roads.

the causes of the dust bowls were severe droughts,   lands became dry and hard, temperature was higher than usual, hot and dry conditions killed crops, high winds. because of those factors, the winds kicked up dry soil and created clouds of dust.
