How did the ideas of the renaissance spread to northern europe

In the beginning, the Renaissance movement gained momentum due to a large number of Free-Thinkers who wanted expand their knowledge in

At that time, this movement was heavily limited by the Church since all of the new knowledge that possess through science often contradicts the teaching of the Church. Especially within the northern Europe, since the Church had  a really strong basis in that region.

The development of Printing press actually helped Renaissance spread to Northern Europe.

Before the creation of the printing press, books were really expensive. Only nobles and famous scholars able to obtain them.

But, after the creation of the printing press, books became much more affordable. This was the way many people in ?Northern Europe able to read the advancement in architecture, art,  politics, science and literature which invented by the renaissance movement.
