What was one effect of u. s. involvement in the global economy?

The US engagement in global trade had enormous consequences for many countries with export-oriented economies after World War Two, because they gained acces to the largest and richest and consumer market of the world. Such an event helped their economic growth and their march to prosperity. Look at the East Asian tigers, for example. At the same time, consumers around the world could get American quality products and services, and benefit from American advanced technology, too. Global presence also allowed American businesses to get valuable experience in foreign markets and other countries´ companies to learn from American business ways.
