The Tarim mummies were discovered in the Tarim Basin (Xinjiang, China) in the early 20th century by European researchers. The oldest mummies are dated to 1800 BCE. DNA tests practiced to some bodies show that those people share genetic material that is considered as belonging to Caucasian people. The controversy goes on and is not expected to end soon.
