If the bombs had not been used would Japan have been annihilated by the allied forces after the fall of Hitler? Or would the army of the rising sun have taken more extreme measure in its quest for conquest? Those types of reflexives questions at the end of a paragraph make a reader think about what they have just read even if they had prior knowledge about it.
