Why were the colonist unlikely to make a better life for themselves

I believe the best answer would be that they could not make a better life for themselves because they were cast out of their home country due to their religious beliefs and in saying that it meant in that time that they were not Catholic they were Protestant so they were cast out of great Britain

the court ruled that a state law that banned abortions (except to save the life of the mother) was unconstitutional
